River Island neon bags.......how they got to be high street

In the world of fashion retail, it is not only about watching what trends trail down the catwalk, but keeping an eye on street trends. Your that one step ahead of any breaking bag, skirt or shoe. So when a bag started making the trends on the celebrity fashionista circuit, buyers sat up. What was this bag? It was not Marc by Marc or anything by Mulberry! As it turns out, the bag was by the Cambridge Satchel company. A company I have written about here before after Henry Holland appeared in Grazia with the bag on his shoulder. I tracked it down hungrily to see just how much. Now the bag is £102 but we're in luck. Buyers for high street are incredibly savvy. They took the trend for neon bags - not just neon bags but neon satchels and developed them for the high street. Clever.
Now when replicating bags, they can't make a complete copy. It has to take the elements of the design (shape, color, print, size) which make it an IT bag in the first place. But they add pieces to it to make it distinctly Topshop or Urban Outfitters and AMEN! to that because it means that that Chloe bag you wanted? You can get copies all over the high street.
So the above bag is from River Island. (the one at the top of the post) and the ones just above this sentence are the original Cambridge bags.
I am a huge huge fan of the originals and hoping someone for my soon to arrive birthday will take note of just how many times I've written about these bags and buy me one! Because otherwise, I'll have to sit this trend out!!
