Weird Al Yankovic Scores FIRST No. 1 Album - Tops 'Billboard!'

Thirty-one years into his career Weird Al' Yankovic is now the current KING OF POP (at least for this week so far)! The "Eat It" parodist new album Mandatory Fun was released on July 15th and this week debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart! According to SoundScan the album sold more that 104,700 copies for week ending July 20th. The album contains parodies of songs & music videos by Pharrell, Iggy Azalea, Robin Thicke and Lorde which Yankovic released 8 videos in 8 days to promote his new album. Reportedly this will be Yankovic's last full project of his thirty year career. He mentioned his interview with GMA that hew will only released EP's or singles going forward and will be cooking up new ideas for those new potential future tracks. Yankovic's success also makes it the first time in 54 years a comedy album has debuted at the No. 1 spot on Billboard! Yankovic sent the internet and social media into a frenzy for the week as he released his parody videos The very surprising but well-deserved success of Yankovic's Mandatory Fun proves that this brilliant comedic duplicator will always be our fun-loving KING of Parody!
