Friday we were up before the alarm went off at 6:45 and by 8:00 we had finished our coffee and were dressed and waiting for Dean and Sherry and for our Treasure Hunt to begin.
But with any good adventure, you need to start off with a satisfying breakfast so we stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Waco first.
Then we drove the hour or so it took us to get to Grandview where we met up with Roy and Ruth Ann. I was the first to see her outside this antique shop! We parked and went right in!
So much to see and do!

Louis Dean made the first purchase of the day!
We just finished the biography of H. Norman Schwarzkopf so we will be starting one of these soon.
I read a chapter out loud every morning after our Bible reading and prayer time.
I am amazed at the number of books we have been able to plow through over the years - one chapter at a time.
This Antique Alley weekend started in Grandview and covered the entire county and several communities.
I had to go in search of a ladies room and found a cute little shop with a wonderful owner who breezed me right through to the little boutique like bathroom when I asked if she would possibly have a ladies room I could use. Then I shopped a bit before rejoining the others.
That's where I bought the jewelry.......the lace top came from a yard sale later on in the day.
We drove out of the downtown area and stopped at this lot by the railroad tracks.

It's the thrill of the hunt!
We didn't come home with much in our wallets!
I found some pretty things at this lady's stall.
The dessert 'Fortune Cookie' plates came from here as well as the four hand painted dinner plates from Italy. The Debbie Mum plates I got at a yard sale for $1 for both. Louis Dean bought the salt and pepper shakers....he said they are 'real' salt and pepper shakers! I guess he means big ones!
The weather was simply perfect!!!
Not too hot in the sun and slightly cool in the shade.
We chose an old fashioned cafe in Grandview for lunch and sat on the patio.
It was wonderful to get to visit with Roy and Ruth Ann.
We spend half of just about every month down here at the ranch so the times Ruth Ann and I are both home in Irving are becoming fewer and farther between.
It was good to sit and visit! And the food there was delicious!!
Sherry ordered these fried jalapeno slices and shared them with everyone.
We lingered long over our meal and got a bit chilly drinking the iced tea!
No hurry and no time schedule......we just drifted through the day.
The whole county was dotted with homes participating in the Antique Alley weekend.
This was a particularly beautiful place.
The home was built 100 years ago and the man shared lots of history about his place with us.
Once again, the men scored on tools or the odd and end thing they had been looking for.
And I bought these for $1 each.
Our last stop was a huge flea market type area with tons of all kinds of things!
Roosters, anyone?
How about a cute pig?
Or what about some white chickens?
I am a Bag Lady so, of course, I had to buy this really great one for fifty cents!!
We all had a lot of fun but all good things must come to an end.
We parted ways back in Grandview where we started our Friday Adventure.
Home to the ranch by way of the back roads.
Today (Saturday) has been slow and easy. For me - that is.
Louis Dean has been working all day.
The forecast said 80% chance of rain and thunderstorms and, sure enough, it rained!
Louis Dean would sit and watch until it stopped and then go out and work until another shower came up. He got a surprising lot of work done!
When I went in to take a nap he had nearly half of the job done and when I got up an hour or two later, he had taken it all down and started over.
The sun came out and the sky turned blue.
Sherry sent me a text and asked if I had seen the rainbow.
I had been sitting right in front of the window whacking out denim squares from old blue jeans so I got right up and looked out!
There's something truly special about a rainbow in the sky.
We've been enjoying the red winged blackbirds that are frequenting that tree out there.
We watch them off and on all day long.
Next month I am going to bring my bird books.
I brought my Texas wildflower book this time but forgot the others.
I'll leave them down here.
This evening I had news from Summer.
She will be coming home the end of next week.
Summer has enjoyed good quality time with Rayne and Sabrina.
They got the power back on after 18 hours and then it was on and off again for a good while.
When Summer sent this picture, she captioned it....
"The Puerto Rican flag says it all, weathered and tired but still waving."
She found this moth inside their house and relocated him outside.
I enjoyed hearing what she's doing down there and I like seeing what she sees.
Louis Dean was so tired tonight that he went on to bed early.
Since I took a nap, I decided to watch a movie on my own.
This is a pretty good movie!
I've always liked Robert Duvall.
I'll go to bed after it's over.
Only one more night after this one and we will go home.
Funny how we look forward to each and every coming and going.
Coming down here and then going back home.
Both places stay 'new' this way, I guess.
